GB/CZ - Matyas Vitver Makes His F4 Debut in Most
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. In the case of Matyas Vladimír Vitver, this is certainly true. He is the son of a five-time winner of the FIA Hillclimb Championship in an Audi TTR DTM and a Czech Circuit Racing Champion in Lotus cars, which he designed himself for the under-2000cc class. His father also won the Golden Steering Wheel award. Will the son from the world of karting follow in his father’s footsteps? We sought the answer to this question right on the opening race day of the Panattoni Carboniacup, which took place on April 12, 2026, at the Most Autodrom.
After his karting beginnings, a new chapter is beginning in the life of Matyas Vitver, who was immensely looking forward to his debut in the F4 Tatuus T421 gen II 1.4T cars, though his entire family is supporting him. Taking to the track against thirty opponents with no prior experience required a great deal of courage. The Panattoni Carboniacup offers such drivers excellent opportunities to test themselves against both young and seasoned drivers and cars of various categories.
The weather was inclement, but not very cold—rather damp. Matyas got his first taste of the track during two free practice sessions; the subsequent qualifying session saw him secure a fascinating second place on the grid with a time of 1:38.936 and a victory over his rivals in the D5 group for factory F4 single-seaters. Behind him finished both the F Renault 2.0 and F3 single-seaters.
The race started in wet conditions behind the safety car; while the experienced Škarda took the lead in his Formula Renault 2.0, the aggressive Matyas was hot on his heels, and their duel entertained the spectators. He even managed to overtake him. Although Luboš Škarda celebrated the overall victory at the finish line, for Matyas, second place overall and victory in the first race among the F4 single-seaters felt like passing his high school graduation exam.
And what did the driver himself say after the race?
The weekend was stressful because I was so focused on the car, but despite that, I really enjoyed it with my parents and the mechanics. The car was really well prepared by my boss (Dad) and the mechanics, and there were no serious problems considering it was our first time doing this together. I also couldn’t have won without good food and support from Mom.

CZ - Matyas Vitver poprvé s F4 v Mostě
Po motokárových začátcích začíná nová kapitola v životě Matyase Vitvera, který se na svou premiéru s vozy F4 Tatuus T421 gen II 1,4T nesmírně těšil, však mu pomáhá celá rodina. Postavit se na trať se třiceti soupeři bez zkušeností znamenalo sebrat velkou odvahu. Panattoni Carboniacup dává takovým jezdům výborné příležitosti vyzkoušet konkurenci mladíků i ostřílených pilotů a vozů různých kategorií.
Počasí nevlídné, ale nikoliv velmi chladné, ale spíše vlhké. Na Matyase čekalo seznámení během dvou volných tréninků, následná kvalifikace znamenala celkové fascinující druhé místo na roštu s časem 1,38.936min a vítězství nad soupeři ve skupině D5 pro fabrické monoposty F4. Za ním skončili jak monoposty F Renault 2,0, tak i F3.
Závod začínal na mokru za safetycarem, zatím co vedení převzal zkušený Škarda na Formel Renault 2,0, tak dravý Matyas mu lízal paty a souboj bavil přítomné diváky. Dokonce ho dokázal i předjet. V cíli se sice z celkového vítězství radoval Luboš Škarda, ale pro Matyase bylo druhé místo celkově a vítězství v prvním závodu mezi F4 monoposty, jako složení maturitní zkoušky.
A co na to řekl sám pilot po závodě?
Víkend byl kvůli respektu k autu stresující, ale přes to jsem si vážně užil to samé s mými rodiči a mechaniky. Auto bylo od šéfa (taťky) a mechaniků vážně dobře připravené a nebyly žádné vážné problémy s tím, že jsme to dělali všichni poprvé. Také by nešlo vyhrát bez dobrého jídla a podpory od mamky.
